Bicycling to the NWTR Victoria, BC

June & July - 2009

Monday July 6, 2009
Victoria Canada to Anacortes WA
Distance 22.1 Miles

Today is time to say good-by to everyone and start the ride back towards Pasco. We got up early had breakfast with our friends and loaded up the bicycle for our ride to Sidney. We followed the same route we had taken before. While we were still inside Victoria city limits we spotted this deer in someone's yard.

It was a cold ride to Sidney and it started showering just as we entered town. We rode past the ferry and stopped at a hardware store to buy a screw so we could fix the rear view mirror that Jim broke the previous day. We have sure had a lot of problems with the bicycle on this trip.

We then rode back to buy our tickets and get in line for the ferry. Jim fixed the mirror and we spent the time talking to people about our bicycle,

We had a good time on the ferry met some more people who had attended the NWTR of course with bicycle clothes on it is easy to see who is who.

It was very cold when we arrived in Anacortes and it didn't take long to go back to the same motel we had been at the week before. We were shocked when we checked in that the price had gone up over $20.00 in one week, the difference between June and July rates.

After we showered we decided to walk the 0.8 miles one way to the bicycle shop to buy Mary Kay some leg warmers for the next couple of days. The temperature was in the 50's and we expected a very cold head wind tomorrow. We walked back to the motel and stopped at a bowling alley for supper. It sure looks like more rain.
