Bicycling to the NWTR Victoria, BC

June & July - 2009

Tuesday June 30, 2009
Rockport to Anacortes WA
Distance 63.3 Miles

Although we had bad head winds at the end of the day and no extra break it was still a good ride day. We left early after a light breakfast rode 8 miles to Dairy with good cookies etc, After a long rest period enjoying the flowers, we rode on to Concrete where we took a 20 mile side road across the Skagit River away from Highway 20.

The trees were pretty and we followed a stream most of the way. A very relaxing ride, even if in parts the road needed repairs. We arrived in Sedro-Woolly in time for another good lunch before we returned to the highway and heavy head winds for the push into Anacortes. We arrived at the motel, cleaned up and walked across the street to a good Oriental restaurant.

We called several bicycle shops but no one had the parts to fix our bicycle. We thought of renting a U-Haul and headed home but decided to continue to Victoria and decide from there what to do.
