It is important to keep the load carried by an airplane under the maximum allowable weight and in the proper position for the airplane. The C-170A has a maximum gross weight of 2,200 pounds. In addition to the maximum weight, the center of gravity must be within limits. The above calculator performs a W&B calculation for N5528C. This calculator will work for other C-170As however the weight and arm will need to be adjusted.
