Today, we all got up in a smoking room and ate breakfast out of our bicycles. By 7:00 we were on the road, headed up the hill towards Lewistown. It was around 58 degrees when we started and about 80 when we arrived in Lewistown.

We stopped at the first café we found to order a much needed breakfast. It took over 2 hours for all 6 of us to be served. They were really busy with only two waitresses. Ken finished eating first, so he got on his bicycle and checked out the motels. We decided to stay at the B&B motel as it was clean and non-smoking. After yesterday it was a major priority. Ken and Jan had to connecting doors with a chain smoker. The smoke in their room was very bad even though they put a towel under the door. Today they need to wash all their clothes to eliminate the odors.

Day before yesterday as we were leaving our lunch stop in Square Butte when we met Sonia and Ken, who asked us the normal questions, where are we going and where are we from? They said they lived in Lewistown. Yesterday, we saw them again in Denton, and they asked Jane to call them when we arrived in Lewistown. They also gave us information on where to eat and where to stay. We called this noon, and they invited all six of us to their home for dinner and we get to take our clothes and wash them while we eat. What a luxury to have a home cooked meal. Sonia cooked us the best dinner; it was great to relax in a home, with good food and friends. We had fabulous vegetable pesto pasta, chicken, bread, fruit, wine and of course Birthday cake to help our Host Ken celebrate his Birthday. It was great to compare stories of the differences between Boston and Montana.
