Boston MA - Rest Day

June 25, 2005

To day we all headed out early to start our last day of being regular tourists in Boston. We rode the shuttle to the airport and then 3 subway lines to a bus that delivered us to JFK Library and Museum. It is a beautiful building located right on the Atlantic Ocean shore and the exhibits are well done.

JFK Library - Boston, MA

Jackie Kennedy picked the site because of President Kennedy's love of the ocean. There was a fantastic view from the front of the building.

We needed a post office so we rode the subway line down to the Amtrak Station and we were able to mail home our souvenirs from Boston and maps that were no longer needed. We walked until we found Jimmy's restaurant for lunch. George's uncle used to work at Jimmy's so it was great for George to remember what it looked like when he was a lot younger. By then it was 2:30 and we all decided that it was time to head back to the motel. This time it only took 2 bus rides. I think we are getting better. We then spent the rest of the day washing clothes, getting caught up on the emails, etc. Tomorrow we will be back on the bicycle heading to Rhode Island where we will spend the night in Woonsocket.
