Rainy Rest Day

Woke up this morning and there was no rain, but very cold temperatures just under 50 degrees and overcast. However, by the time we were dressed the cars outside were wet from the rain. We spent the day doing chores rather then cycling. In the morning we worked on route planning for the next week and on motel reservations for the next couple of days. We are in a tourist area and it is nearing the weekend. In the afternoon we took a break and walked up the hill to downtown Portland, to do some shopping at a LL Bean store. (We needed warmer shirts for this cold weather.) We visited the Portland Art Museum and really enjoyed the architecture and the art exhibits. We then walked back to the motel and read our books for a couple of hours before we walked a couple of blocks to the same, neighborhood café Jim and I had eaten at yesterday. Once again the food was very good. When we left there were about 20 people standing outside waiting for a table. Glad we decided to eat early at 5:30. In the evening Jim worked on the routes getting them programmed into the GPS for tomorrow. Sometimes all this electronic efficiency takes more time then the old methods. Now that this is written it is 9:30, time to send it to Mark for posting, so we can get to bed. Thanks for reading with us.
