Bicycling New England, the
Erie Canal, & around Lake Ontario 2005
Lockport to Buffalo, NY

July 13, 2005
Distance 15.9 Miles

This morning we slept in until 8:00 and then rushed to the motel lobby for a good Belgian waffle breakfast. We then loaded the bicycle and headed out to Bruce and Amber's home, and to see their dog Dexter.

Bruce's House

We arrived around 11:00, which allowed us to see Amber before she left for work. It also gave us plenty of time to clean the bicycle, including the chains so the bicycle will be ready in 10 days to resume our trip. This is the first time we have ever had a 10 day break in the middle of a tour. For the next 27 days we will have the joy of visiting all of our three children and their families that live east of the Mississippi. What a Joy.

We now have clean clothes even got to soak the white socks in Clorox, when you travel sometimes you do not have the luxury of some items that we take for granted when we are at home. We have also started sorting some of the supplies for our trip home in August. We will now start spending time like regular company and tourists while the bicycle remains stored in Bruce's garage.

We were treated to a wonderful dinner out by Amber and Bruce, combination Happy Father's Day and Jim's birthday. It is great to be with family.
