The plan the night before was if it was raining we would rent a U-Haul and move ourselves out of the rain. It is supposed to rain for the next 6 days. But lo and behold when we got up the ground was still damp, the sky was gray but it was not raining. So after breakfast in the motel we all quickly packed to ride and headed out. All day the sky was gray we had several sprinkles in the morning, but nothing to worry about. We stopped and had lunch in downtown York. We crossed a mile long bridge over the Susquehanna River at the town of Columbia, PA, it was nice to have a stretch without a hill.

And then continued towards Lancaster, as we entered town we passed a motel we considered staying at but it was early so thought we would stay on the far side of Lancaster, so we would have a shorter day tomorrow. We followed the next day's route and when we reached eastern Lancaster. We found that there were no motels located on the route. And then the rain gods decided to get even with us for riding 50+ miles without getting wet. In the next 20 minutes that it took us to get to a motel, we got very wet.

Good luck for George and Jane they had a flat tire so they were behind us and they located a nice motel in town and missed most of the rain. So tomorrow we will each start from our motels and meet each other tomorrow night. Just hope the rain waits for the afternoon.
