Earlier in the week I read an article in the local paper about a B-17 that would be in the area over the weekend giving rides for around $400 - out of my price range. But before then, it would be parked at the Tillamook Air Museum. I enjoy visiting the Tillamook Air Museum because you can actually park your plane in front of the museum. That got me thinking? if the B-17 happened to be parked in front of the museum, I should be able to park the C-170 next to it and get some cool pictures. Due to weather and work I was not able to fly over to the museum until Friday around noon. I flew over with a friend who is also a pilot. When we arrived, the B-17 was inside but we were told it would be rolled outside shortly. We decided to eat lunch and by the time we were done the B-17 was parked directly across from my C-170! We spend some time touring the museum, walking through the B-17 and taking a lot of pictures. We then pushed the C-170 over next to the B-17 to get the following pictures. It was a bit windy on the coast that day with gusts forecast around 20-25mph so we didn't park the C-170 too close to the B-17. After taking more pictures we flew home. This was a day I hope not to forget - a true blessing.
