Hot Springs to Mt Ida AR
Distance: 38.1 Miles

Today we spent all day going up and down hills. The worst hills were within the city of Hot Springs. These hills were short but very steep. After leaving the city we spent a lot of time going 8 miles an hour or less as we would be going up a very long hill that looked like the road was flat. By the time we reached Mt Ida we were both very tired. The sky was very dark and it had sprinkled on us several times during the past two hours. We did not want to get rained upon. Therefore we decided to stay in Mt Ida instead of continuing on to a cabin we had been offered by a lady in Hot Springs at Parkside Cycle. After we checked into the motel we knew we had made a mistake because the sun came back out.
