Bicycling Florida to Texas

2008 - May - June

This trip gives us time to visit with family living east of the Mississippi and complete 5 of the 8 states we need to cycle to meet our goal to bicycle 48 of the USA states. We travel via Amtrak to Newport News Virginia to visit our granddaughter Sophie and her parents, Bruce and Amber, before we head to the start of the trip in Florida.

Will start cycling from Jacksonville across Florida, up Alabama and then across Mississippi and Arkansas, then through Oklahoma on our way to Longview Texas. We will then take Amtrak to Chicago where we will rent a car to visit Scott & Barbara in Wisconsin and John and Katie in Ohio, before taking Amtrak back home to Washington.

We will be traveling on our Rans Screamer a tandem recumbent this is a trip of just the two of us without support to cover the 1,600+ miles.
